We have 12 beers available at all times. They rotate relatively often. The following is a list of all the beers we’ve ever brewed.

Modicum Original

A pale, dry ale with rustic complexity. Notes of stone fruit  with a subtle earthy spiciness and a soft, lingering bitterness.

Malt: Pils, Vienna, Wheat

Hops: Sterling

The Heavens

A soft, balanced, crisp, pale lager. Subtly herbal with a clean, toasty maltiness.

Gimmick  

A hop forward lager. The base beer remains the same but the hops change with every batch, that’s the gimmick!

Original Grand Cru  

This is Original’s big sister, brewed with the same blend of malts, hops and yeast. More intensely complex and bigger bodied. Big fruit character and spicy phenolics linger into the long, dry finish. Sweet and boozy up front with a pillowy, wheat-heavy mouthfeel, the sweetness gives way to a peppery dryness.

Archetype   

A very dark, robust ale. You might even describe it as “stout”. Sweet up front with layers of chocolate, dark fruit notes and a roasty finish.

Peel  

A spicy wheat beer aged on a blend of fresh citrus zest. Bright, dry and refreshingly aromatic.

Idiom

Divine Dramedy

A not-too-big yet bold ale with complex dark fruit character of plum and raisin with subtle spice notes.

Strawboss

A diminutive, hop-accented farmhouse ale with citrus and tropical notes and an earthy, spicy finish.

Gibberish

A complex  rye ale packed with big esters and earthy, peppery notes. A perfect marriage of a rye malt backbone and an uncontrolled farmhouse-style fermentation.

Terra

At Modicum we take Terroir seriously. Terra is brewed once a year. Made entirely with wet hops harvested from our private hop farm. This beer shows off the regional character of beers grown and brewed right here.

Exclamation!

Exclamation! is our seasonal dark lager. Malty and toasty with subtle dark fruit notes, it’s just big enough to pair perfectly with the colder months of the year.

Little Ruckus

This hop-forward, tiny table beer is brewed with zero bittering hops. We use only a large whirlpool addition and one more dry hop addition post-fermention of Wisconsin-grown hops. With bright, tropical hop character in the aroma and on the palate, this beer is balanced and quaffable.

Leafless

A springtime lager fermented with local maple syrup. Toasty malt plays with a very subtle maple note that makes for a perfectly drinkable beer that pairs well with the transition to the warmer months.

Hear! Hear!

A spring seasonal Witbier spiced with lemongrass and chamomile. This hazy, crushingly quaffable ale showcases earthy and herbal spice notes along with subtle citrus notes.

Moniker

A malt-forward Biere De Garde. This ale is fermented cool then it goes through a lengthy aging process in stainless for a restrained farmhouse-character that melds perfectly with the malt driven profile.

Gimmick Extra

The Gimmick is the same: the hops are left up to the brewer’s discretion. Now have a little extra. This is our Imperial India Pale Lager. Our house lager yeast really lets the interplay of malt and hops show through. Tropical and floral hops are the centerpiece, with a solid foundation of malt underneath.

WWHG Dunkel 

To celebrate National Homebrew Day, we brewed a beer in collaboration with the Western Wisconsin Homebrewer’s Guild. The result was this beautifully balanced Munich-Style Dunkel Lager. Bready and toasty, it’s about as German as beer gets.

Hops: Magnum, Saaz

Whiksey

This barrel-aged strong ale was brewed in collaboration with The Tomahawk Room in Chippewa Falls. Inspired by a house cocktail, this ale is aged in Jim Beam Rye barrels, then blended back together to be aged further in stainless tanks on fresh lemon zest.

Verse/Prose

Verse and Prose are two sister beers. Brewed with the exact same ingredients but fermented with different yeast strains. This seemingly small change results in vastly different beers: Verse is a Czech-style Pilsener and Prose is a Belgian-style Saison.

Hype-Free IPA

This is not a beer worthy of hype. It doesn’t elicit oohs and ahhs from beer bloggers. It isn’t brewed with trendy, proprietary hops. It is neither juicy nor hazy.

It’s simple. Made with Wisconsin-grown hops from our own backyard in tiny batches because, well, that’s how we make our beer. It’s balanced, drinkable, and most importantly, 100% free of hype.
